Who it’s for /
Is it right for you?
Whitening works on natural teeth with healthy enamel and gums. We check both before we start.
Stains from coffee, tea or wine
Surface and deeper stains from food and drink usually respond very well to peroxide whitening.
Healthy natural teeth
We check for decay and gum problems first, because whitening works best on sound enamel.
Before veneers or bonding
Whitening first lets us match any new restorations to your brighter shade.
Not ideal for
Crowns, veneers and fillings do not change colour, and whitening is not recommended during pregnancy. We will tell you honestly if it is not right for you.

What to expect afterwards
Most patients see a clear change after one session. The shade settles over about 48 hours and typically lasts one to three years, depending on diet and habits. Top-up gel in your custom trays keeps it fresh.
Aftercare
- For 48 hours, avoid strongly coloured food and drink such as coffee, red wine, curry and berries.
- Some sensitivity for a day or two is normal. A toothpaste for sensitive teeth helps.
- Avoid smoking, which quickly re-stains freshly whitened enamel.
- Use your custom trays for a top-up night or two every few months.

Yes, when it is supervised. Peroxide gels lighten teeth by breaking down stain molecules inside the tooth; they do not remove enamel. We check your teeth first and adjust the strength if you are prone to sensitivity.
Typically one to three years. Coffee, tea, red wine and smoking shorten it; occasional top-ups with your trays extend it.
No. Restorations keep their original colour, which is why we check them before we start. Sometimes we suggest replacing a front filling afterwards so it matches.
